The Academy of the Self runs a twelve-week cohort, twice a year, for people whose identity has become entangled with their output — founders, executives, writers, principals — and who are ready to author the next instrument.
The cohort is not a retreat, a certification, a mastermind, or a mentorship. It is closer to a graduate reading room held in private: weekly live convenings hosted by Cynthia Johnson and Ryan Wegenast, shared reading and field work between, and two private executive feedback sessions — one early, to set positioning; one at the close, to integrate it.
Three moves. One purpose.
Think for yourself. The first move is interior. The focus is Self — taxonomy, language, the first honest map of who is actually doing the work. You cannot brand what you have not met.
Make choice visible. The second move is the line between the person and the persona. The focus is Identity — what the self produces in the world, and how to make the second answerable to the first.
Act with others. The third move is reciprocal. The focus is Brand — how the work is seen, by whom, and on what terms. The arc closes on what we call integral visibility — visibility that has a self underneath it.
